    Abstract:
    The general properties of aerosol black carbon are presented with an emphasis on the discussion of radiative effect of black carbon on the global and regional climate change.The recent progress in this field,both in the modeling and measurement studies are also reviewed briefly.It is concluded that aerosol black carbon is a very important aspect in the studies of the climate change and environmenal issues.

    Abstract:
    In August 2000, the content of ice nuclei in the atmosphere in Maqu area of Gansu Province was observed with mixing chamber. Then the feature of content′ variation in the days different, weather conditions and pressures is analyzed. By comparation with the results of Beijing , Lanzhou City,Xining City and some other regions , the content of ice nuclei in Maqu area is less than those of some other regions, such as Beijing in the 90s and Lanzhou City.Moreover, the content in Maqu area is close to the result of Beijing in 1963.

    Abstract:
    Referring to the methods of hydrological sections and meteorological observatories all over the country,the boundaries of seven great river valleys (including Changjiang River,Yellow River,Songhuajiang River,Liaohe River,Haihe River,Huaihe River and Zhujiang River) and their sub-valleys are objectively determined.The whole country is divided into 71 sub-valleys and computer automatically selects the representative stations of each sub valley.Having studied the advantages of all kinds of methods calculating area rainfall,Taisen Polygon Method as the main method is chosen to calculate area rainfall.The tryout of area rainfall forecast was made in the Central Meteorological Obervatory (CMO) during the period from June to September 2000.On the basis of timely incorporating 24 hour conventional rainfall data and intensive rainfall data as the real time data every day and converting 24 hour and 48 hour short term rainfall forecast guiding products offered by the CMO into station rainfall,real time and forecast area rainfall of each sub-valley are calculated.And at the same time,displaying real time and forecast area rainfall under the MICAPS system is realized.

    Abstract:
    An aircraft equipped with the Particle Measuring System (PMS) probed the precipitable stratiform clouds over Henan province on April 14,2000. The micro-physical characteristics of the cloud systems are analysed by means of micro-physical data from the aircraft measurement in conjunction with the corresponding period data of weather, radar and satellite, etc. The horizontal and vertical variation of LWC, MND and droplet spectra are discussed.

    Abstract:
    With application of the expressions of the general entropy flows and the entropy productions,the negentropy flows and the entropy productions of the tropospheric atmosphere are roughly calculated,and the basic factors which led up to the chimatic variation are analysed.

    Abstract:
    With the daily surface meteorological elements which are classified statistically in past years from three stations in Guizhou, both the moving rule of the air mass effecting Guizhou area, and the correlation between the meteorological disaster and air mass motion frequency are analysed. The results show that the climate in Guizhou is effected by much air masses′ motion, and each has its corresponding weather characteristics. Additionally, the climate disaster is better related to some air masses′ change, which has much realism in the study of the climate change and the cause of formation of air mass in Guizhou.

    Abstract:
    Some causes of the super rainstorm occurred in Xinxiang,Zhengzhou,Kaifeng and Xuchang etc. from July 5th to July 6th in 2000 is analysed by using the observations of 714CD Doppler Weather Radar in Zhengzhou together with the hourly surface rainfall,wind data,soundings of Zhengzhou and area map of Henan. It is revealed that the super rainstorm process has typical character of mesoscale disturbance and severe convection.

    Abstract:
    The time and space distribution of hail storms in Weihai City are analyzed with observational data and catastrophic events report from January 1960 to December 1997 at sampling stations and sounding data from January 1986 to December 1995 in Europe and Asia.Results indicate that seasonal variation of the Weihai hail storms exist a double peak value phenomenon.Hail storms are the most in May,June,September and October.Synoptic situation of Weihai hail storms demarcated cold vortex type,trough type,small trough type in northwest air stream and latitudinal trough type.In hail area,there is strong warm humidity advection along the boundary.There is labile stratification under midtroposphere.The humid area is of pack shape and the dimension is small.There is strong dry cool advection in the midtroposphere.The divergence is at the left side of exit over the mid and upper troposphere.

    Abstract:
    The connection between the profit and loss of soil moisture and drought intensity is concerned.First,on the basis of the temperature and rain data of ChongQing in recent 36 years,the monthly and annual profit and loss of soil moisture is calculated with C·W·Thornthwait experience expressions.Then,according to the drought standard in climate,all kinds of laws of drought taking place in a general year are analysed,and the connection between the profit and loss of soil moisture and drought intensity is studied.Finally,the general laws of all kinds of drought distributions in ChongQing city are concluded.

    Winter circulation and summer drought and flood is closely related.When the longitudinal circulation in winter is unusually strong the meridianal circulation is weaker.Meanwhile,when the north pole ovrtex tends to the south in January flood and drought would be caused easily in Chifeng area in summer.

    Abstract:
    Human beings are subject to comprehensive influence of various meteorological elements.Quantitative description of man′s perception of weather makes it necessary to study comfort index,whereby to better serve the public.A study is done on comfort accordind to the weather conditions in Zhongshan,Guangdong.As a result of the comparative study of various comfort indexes,effective temperature (ET) is taken as the criterion for the judgement of comfort.In order to accurately depict man′s overall perception of weather,daily mean effective temperature (MEP) is calculated according to daily average states of various meteorological elements,which is then grouped into one of the nine categories.Analysis of daily mean effective temperature over the past year indicates that such a classification is satisfactory.Apart from MEP,corresponding ETs are also calculated separately for the periods of time when the highest and lowest temperatures are observed.Our program reacts satisfactorily when abnormalities occur in temperature,humidity,and wind force,thus giving the public necessary detailed description.The program has proved satisfactory in application.

    Abstract:
    Based on the data of the People′s Hospital of Weifang,Shandong Province,combined with the general meteorological observation,the relation between the incidence of four diseases,such as breath system diseases,coronary heart diseases and other cardiopathy,cerebral hemorrhage and other cerebrovascular diseases,high blood pressure and other cycle system disease,and meteorological conditions is analyzed.First,the monthly change of incidence of the four kinds of diseases and its correlation with meteological conditions is obtained.Then,a multiple regression equation is established to predict the frequently occurring periods and the less occurring periods of the four kinds of diseases.
