    Abstract:
By means of the data from measurements with the particle measuring system CPMS) during 27 flights,a synthetical study of the microphysical structure of stratiform clouds is presented. On a certain assumption, the accumulated water content in the c;louds above the observational level is estimated according to the particles image data. Based on synthetical resuhs, the appropriate dose of catalyst to the stratiform clouds in spring and fall is discussed.

    Abstract:
By applying recursive bandpass filter based on the first-order Butterworth function to running samples, the relative amplitude and phase errors in the output sequence from those running input data are found. The propagation property of the errors in the output is analysed. To suppress the errors of the output, the "three steps recursion technique with developing initial output" procedure has been developed. A lots of tests show that this procedure can suppress the errors and phase shift in the output effectively.

    Abstract:
By using the precipitation data in the dry season from 19(51 to 1994 and the same time synoptic maps, the severe precipitation factors and features of circulation prior to the occurrence of the regional severe precipitation are analysed. Six circulation patterns are classified from numerous cases and the indexes of forcasting severe precipitation are discovered from the every day data. The forecasting indexes of severe precipitation for two circulation patterns are given, which is proved to he practical value in the dry season severe precipitation occurrences in Sanxia on the Changjiang in recent two years.

    Abstract:
Using the daily date of precipitation of six stations in Sanxia area during October to January from 1961 to 1994,the days of regional severe precipitation in the area are defined. The reasons, the impacting systems and the features of general circulation for regional severe precipitation in the area are analysed by using the historic synoptic charts during the same period. The features of general circulation of two ridges and two troughs model during the regional severe precipitation in Sanxia area are summarized. A synoptic model for forecasting regional severe precipitation in dry season in Sanxia area on the Changjiang is given. The predictive indexes of the circulation pattern is drawn. The operational experiment result shows that the two ridges and two troughs model and its predictive indexes are of referential value to forecast the regional severe precipitation in dry season in Sanxia on the Changjiang.

    Abstract:
Using the 6 stations precipitation data in the Sanxia area and weather chart data from October to January during 1961—1994, the prior indexes of regional severe precipitation in Sanxia area are analysed under 500hPa circulation of "big U"pattern. It is tested using the data in 1995 and trial forcasted using the data in 1996. The Result shows that according to the combination of indexes including 500hPa small trough-line, trough-line over the Bay of Bengal and frontal-line on surface chart, added to some other conditions,it may be forecasted if there is regional severe Precipitation under the 500hPa circulation of "big U"pattern.

    Abstract:
By using surface and 500hPa weather map and precipitation data from 1961 to 1994, the relationship between the one ridge-one trough circulation pattern and regional severe precipitation during the dry season (Oct. —Jan. ) in Sanxia on the Changiang was analysed. The characteristics of temporal and spatial distribution of warm high ridge associated with severe precipitation were analyzed and the day by day checking was carried out,and the forecast indexes of severe precipitation were summarized. The checking was carried out with the application of the weather map and precipitation data in 1995. The results were good . The study have been applied to the informal forecast during Oct. —Jan. in 1996. The trial were quite good and the forecasting indexes possess certain value of reference.

    Abstract:
The data of total atmospheric ozone in East China from Dec. 1993 to Nov. 1994 is analysed and compared with globe average in same latitude. The annual, diurnal and seasonal changes of total atmospheric ozone are discussed. The results show that there is the characteristic of double peak of total ozone in annual change, and the total ozone is higher in the noon and lower in the morning and evening. The amount in spring is higher than in winter. The relationship between the total ozone with atmospheric transparecy is more intimate.

    Abstract:
Hydrological and meteorological data in Yantai port over twenty years are analysed. The mechanism of the genesis of storm surge and its general characteristics are studied mainly in view of the combined meteorological and oceanic influences. Applying the hydrological observations from 1980 to 1992 and the products of numerical weather forecast, the storm surges on different weather type are classified, and the factors are selected to build objective, quantitative, automated forecast system for storm surge. It had been proved to be useful such the system was used in service of Yantai Maritime Meteorological Observatory.

    Abstract:
Using routine weather maps of west hemisphere and daily precipitation data of New York from 1980 to 1990,extratropical cyclone in North America has been classified as three types. The climatic features, process of formation of three types and its influence on rainfall of New York have been analysed. The results show that the mean frequency of extratropical cyclone during winter time is fifty-one,its annual chang is small;Cyclone number is twelve in maximum month, five in minimum month, the distribution on time of three types of cyclones and their affection on precipitation of New York are different.

    Abstract:
The influence of diurnal temperature variation on land-sea breeze in peninsula region on the coast south of the Bohai bay was approached by using data collected at several observatories. The reversal of breeze direction between day and night exists throughout the year in regular pattern, a consequence of the effect of unevenly heated land and sea. The reversal time and duration vary with the four seasons. Although land-sea breeze makes no obvious harm,it has much to do with the advection and abation of sea fog and growth of southwest wind at night in the region.
