  • 1  The Climatic Classification of Summer Rain Belt in Eastern China and Their Circulation Features

    Utilizing the principal component and K-mean cluster analysis,the summer rain belts in eastern China have been classified. The results show that the second principal component plays an important role in all cluster factors when the cluster factor of N is equal to 4 and the cluster number of K is equal to 2. It can not only identify two different rain belt types and their strength but also have significant difference in their circulation features.

    The analytical solutions of surface layer Monin-Obukhov stability parameter similarity equations are presented for the nondimensional profile functional forms put forward by Businger et al. For stable and unstable atmospheric conditions,exact analytical solutions of gradient Richardson number Ri are obtained. The proposed analytical solutions can replace the costly numerical iterative method, the least-square methods of estimated stability parameters, and the aerodynamic method for calculating surface turbulent fluxes. The sensible heat and latent heat fluxes were compared each other with the Bowen ratio and aerodynamic methods to be calculated.

    The raindrop spectra distribution fitting experiments are carry out based on data obtained from abroad. Fitting results show that exponent type spectra(M-P) is a case only,and most of the universal types are ofΓtype distributions.
    4  Nonlinear Interpolation for Navigation of Satellite Image

    Based on the analysis of grid data for navigation from GMS-4,it is discovered that the vari bility of pixel resolution between two grid points at the same latitude may be used as a constant. The resolution of each pixel can be computed according to the principle of geometrical progression. The geographical position of the pixel, in turn, can be determined. A method of nonlinear interpolation designed from this result has more advantage than the linear interpolation.

    The ralationship between high temperature and lasting high temperature of Suzhuo and El Nino event and index of meridional circulation in Asia and strong subtropical high ridge since 1951 is analysed. Based on the feature of El Nino event reflacted on satellite images,the auther made exactly mid-range forcasting of high temperature in time by amanding the numerical prediction products(96-192hours) of Japan.

    Based on the research about balance of farmland moisture,the analysis of one crop yield has been applied to crops of all kind. The results show that crops fond of water in dry land have the closest relation with the field moisture budget,while drought resistant crops have a relationship with the field moisture that is not as close as the former ones and others is placed in the middle. Combined with economic price,a policy of development is put forward.

    It is pointed out,that with a real study example,the key regions may be inreliable if only according to the absolute values of difference of the mean values to pick out the key regions. That may result in false regions and miss the important ones. The methods of solving this problem are presented.

The results show that the combination of satellite data and conventional data is very useful and potential for mesoscale systems monitoring and nowcasting..

    Based on the study of the satellite image, the radar echo and the surface meso-scale systems, the article mainly focuses on explaining how the "91. 7" Heavy Rain was developed and concludes that the rain-storm was a consequence of the interaction between the middle latitude westerly trough and the low latitude typhoon cloud-cluster;it also points out that if surface meso-scale convergence line (convergence center) appears in front of the surface meso-scale high energy tongue, then severe convective weather such as tornado,squall line,etc. would easily emerge.

    According to the information from.     Investigations on board a ship for two voyages through passing the Pacific Ocean and back were conducted how to decrease fuel consumption and insure ship safety and liner turnover by ship weather routing. The ship weather routing not only has certain economic effeciency, but also is a very useful navigation management mode.
