    Abstract:
In this paper, a case of the cold front precipitation is analysed using the data from the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Mesoscale Meteorological Experiment. The characteristics of the lightning activity affected by thecold front, especilly, the features of the meso (micro)-scale systems are analysed and studied. The method and the possibility to analyse the meso (micro) -scale systems using the data of lightning is approached. The results show that the meso (micro) -scale systems and their evolution can be analysed according to the variation of the active band (zone) where lightning occured frequently.
2  The characteristics of heat balance on the snow surface at Mizuho Station in Antarctica

    Abstract:
In this paper, the data of the micrometeorology near the surface, the net radiation and the local pressure at Mizuho Station in Antarctica(1979) are analysed. The monthly average values of sensible and latent heat fluxes are calculated with Bowen ratio-energy budget method. The monthly average heat flux on the snow surface is studied. The heat budget on the snow surface is estimated directly using the net radiation flux. The obvious characteristic is that the value of the net radiation on the snow surface is negative from March to December. The supplement of the heat is obtained according to the sensible heat flux from the air to the snow surface. It can be concluded that the snow surface at Mizub(?) station is a strong cold source.
3  The statistical analysis on the mean wind profiles in lower atmospheric layer effected by the urban buildings

    Abstract:
By means of the statistical averaging method, the hourly observations of wind profile in winter and summer of 1988 obtained from a meteorological tower in Tianjin are analysed. It is found that significant contrast of statistical characteristics for the mean wind profiles in the surface layer exist between them in winter. This contrast may show the feature of the effect of the urban buildings on the wind profiles in lower atmospheric layer on the part of local climate. However, the statistical rulein summer is differed from that in winter.
