Abstract:
As a promotion study of the previous 2-level steering model, a weighted 3-level steering typhoon forecasting scheme has been developed and put into operation at the Kuangzhou Forecasting Center in the typhoon season of 1987. A verifi-cation of forecasts shows that the averaged typhoon position error produced by the scheme is less than that issued correspondingly by the JTWC at Guam and also less than the mean error produced by the 2-level steering model which has worked for many years.

Abstract:
Using the 713 radar data and other meteorological observations, the charactersi-tics of the ambient field condition, satellite imagery and radar echo in the case of a severe squall line on 24th August of 1987 are analyzed in the paper.The important characteritics of the severe squall line activities in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei Province in cold vortex patternn and some reference points for the nowcasting of squall line are presented here.

Abstract:
NOAA-7 satellite temperatures over the East Asia from February 13 to March 1. of 1984, collected by the satellite Meteorological Centre, retrieved with the statistical regression method and compared with the adjacent radiosondes, are verified statistically with large amount of samples. The characteristics of the errors' horizontal and vertical distributions and their day-night changes are analyzed and discussed. ?

Abstract:
This,paper introduces the principles,structures, distinguishing features and specification of the telemetering radiometer. The instruments has been considerably improved in aspacts of materials, technology, function, automation and precision by contrasted sharply with the radiometer operating now in the meteorological stations.It is believed that the employing of these apparatus will lead to lighten the observers' labour intensity and s'trenthen the working efficiency. Fine observational data would meet varieties of requirements all over the country.
