    Abstract:
    The total amount of ozone overheaded in late winter and early spring at Antarctica has decreased by about 30-40 per cent during past decade to form an "ozone hole". Some efferts to interpret the observed fact made by various authors were reviewed to give a comprehensive survey to the problem. The mechanisms raising both in view of photochemistry and in dynamics are as yet in their infancy, but they are the first step of the whole process of understanding the phenomenon. The author of the paper appreciate the idea that the perfect solution of the problem may come from the combination of the two views.

    Abstract:
    The spectrum analysis and factor analysis are employed in this paper for the mon-nthly rainfall days in 46 stations over China.The results of the spectrum analysis show that the first wave in the harmonic waves is preponderate in the harmonic waves, the significant areas are North, Northeast, South-west and South of Chain, and the maxium values of amplitude occure in July and August.The first six principal components, which is from the amplitude matrix of the first harmonic wave, have been rotated with maxium variance rotated technique, which have the meaningful characters corresponding to some areas in China. Their variety features with time have the increasing tendency year by year, and the periodic fluctuation with quasi-biennial and 22-year.

    Abstract:
    In this paper, the disturbance of ECMWF forecast height has been resolved into zonal wave spectrum by method of harmonic analysis. The integrated waves are composed of varied harmonics. The relations between the spectrum and medium range weather for spring over Zhejing Province are analysed. By using stepwise regression the medium range forecast equations are established. The forecasting results indicated that the equations are efficacious.

    Abstract:
    By analysing of the seasonal series of Qinghai-Xizang Plateau temperature anor-maly index, it is shown that there are two significance periods and two less significance ones,these are three-year and five-year, and seven-year and eleven-year respectively.. The sign changes of Plateau temperature anormaly in autumn is often observed, and earlier than the changes of anormal signs of western Pacific subtropic high and ultra-long-wave amplitude.
    5  An improved method for retrieving the clear radiance

    Abstract:
    A method for retrieving the clear radiation from several adjacent fields of view of HIRS/2 which are partially contaminated by clouds is developed. The accuracy of this method is compared with that of Aoki's Q8 method by numerical simulation study. The present method is more accurate than Aoki's Q8 method.
