Abstract:Launched in May 2006, China Weather TV has a short history of less tha n 3 years, while in some developed countries like the United States, weather c hannels have developed for more than 20 years. Some characteristics of its development are analyzed and summarized: intensive a nd brand development path, a udiencecentered program design, localized weather information provided to broa dcast channels as an important pillar of their programs, relying on the basic nat ional meteorological data and forecasts and developing their own early warning a lert service products, attaching great importance to the research, development a nd application of new technologies, etc. Also, it combines the above analysis wi th our contemporary situation and brings up 5 suggestions on the developme nt of China Weather TV.
