According to the natural precipitation and actual water resource, the concepts of "natural aridity"and "actual aridity "have been sugge ted, which has made the .contribution to arranging the Gansu Loessial Plateau and the oasis in the Hexi Corridor under categories of climate and vegetation patterns. The results show that the patterns of climate and vegetation zones are comparatively coincided with those of their physical landscapes.
