By means of objective diagnoses, a heavy rain event over Longdongbao Airport Guiyang, at 20 BT(Beijing Time), May 15, 2003, caused by meso-αconvective systems is studied. The large scale environmental and physical conditions before the occurrence of meso-α convective systems are obtained.
